Pulling inspiration from animals, nature, stories, humor and joy, Delaine Hackney works primarily with ceramic tile, incorporating some glass as well as found objects into her mosaic projects.

Her works are vibrant and textural, employed with a precision setting style that makes for clean, flowing lines and minimal grout areas.

As a self-taught professional working artist since 2004, Delaine has an excellent knowledge of materials, techniques and tools of the trade. Her mosaics are built to last for many decades.

Delaine may be described as unpretentious, joy seeking, responsible, healthy, hardworking and highly creative. A long time resident of the San Francisco bay area, Delaine is  based in California, currently alternating between Chula Vista and Vallejo, where she lives with her husband and their beloved dogs.
